Oriental Crusher was the second branch of the group and was established in the year 1982, specializing in the production of crushed sand and aggregate. This company is the backbone of the group and was originally located in the Al Khoud region in Oman but was later shifted to a different location to avoid various risks that may arise from pollution, which can disturb the environment especially since the group strongly believes in preserving the Omani nature. It is now located in the Wilayat Samail, which is known to be the most industrialized area in the country. The company is considered to be the focal point of the entire group for providing high quality raw materials for other companies in the field of blocks and concrete, according the Omani standards and measures applied in the Sultanate. Their plants production process is fully automized to avoid exerting too much labor effort and to achieve consistent results. It is also centrally controlled to closely govern the production process making sure that the outcome is always desirable.

The most crtitical element of the whole crushed sand production process is in the end where the products have to go through the washing station ensuring that the end result is free from of any contaminated waste that may effect the finished good.

The whole plant including the washing station is equipped with one of the best dedusting automation and water recycling plants working in accordance with the environmental rules and regulations

The third group of companies, established in 1983, was another changing point in the group’s vision to expand into a broader organization offering various lines of interrelated products and services.

Oriental Building Materials supplies the construction sector with different types of blocks, which are characterized as either solid or hollow, according to customer requirements. The blocks factory is also located in the Al Rusayl area since it’s a very feasible location where most of the construction and manufacturing companies are located. Oriental Building Materials is considered to be the first fully automated factory capable of producing the most high quality blocks, in different shapes and sizes. These blocks are known as Hourdi blocks, and are relatively rare in the market.

The factory operates using highly advanced technology and machinery. The process of producing these blocks is done through an automatic steam treatment making sure that the production of materials is completed in a highly efficient manner.

The factory also contains a laboratory to control the quality of the products ensuring the highest Omani and BS standards. The laboratory acts as a supervising base where every batch of blocks have to pass through, before the end phase, to ensure that all the requirements are met before sending them out to various clients and suppliers.

TOriental Insulated Blocks has proved to be one of the leading insulating blocks manufacturers in the Sultanate. Since its establishment in the year 2001, it has used the most sophisticated and advanced German technology which is the first in the Middle East and like no other covering the MENA region.

The factory is also located in the Al Rusayl industrial area for many reasons mentioned earlier. The types of blocks manufactured at Oriental Insulated Blocks are revolutionary in the field of construction because of their ability to save electricity by up to 40%. Almost all blocks produced tend to consume excessive energy due to its high demand for power.

Therefore, with this idea in mind, Oriental Insulated Blocks have been able to supply and produce a different type of product, with the result of lower electricity consumption. Adding onto that, the insulation includes another advantage which is by protecting the block from humidity, thereby preserving both the environment as well as the product itself.

With the growing demand for concrete, and the with the economy moving towards reducing the cost of time that it takes to produce concrete, Oriental Ready-mix has taken the opportunity once again to shape up the manufacturing Industry. It carefully specializes in producing ready mix concrete, using an excellent mixing unit consisting of a pan mixer attached with agitators at their plant. This selection has been made to ensure the highest quality of concrete mixes. The mixing machine used at Orimix is one of the best of its kind and has been manufactured by Liebherr, an eminent German Company that produces some of the most sophisticated machinery used in our world of building materials today.

With this advanced technology, Oriental Ready-mix can not only exceed consumer requirements, but also produce some of the most sought after type of concrete used in almost all buildings and construction projects.

This famous German brand has assisted Orimix in producing concrete using a 4cbm mixer with a double agitator. Orimix has undergone numerous projects with some of the most renowned companies in Oman.

After graduating from high school in the early 1960’s, and before the renaissance of his H.M. Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, Mohamed Awadh Ali joined Oman’s Industrial College in Oman to pursue his higher education and earn a degree in mechanical engineering. The industrial college was directly affiliated with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) and was one of the elite educational institutes in the Sultanate.

Mohamed joined the army early in his career and has represented Oman in the military and armed forces as a committed ambassador to his country. He spent almost 12 years of his life dedicated to serving the nation through his constructive effort in the Omani army. He’s initial vision was to become a military pilot in the armed forces aviation however; things unexpectedly took a different route. He was assigned to become a militant, which required him to move on to pursue his advanced education in Britain where he would be qualified to become a top ranking lieutenant in the in the Sultanate of Oman’s armed military forces.

After successfully completing his higher education in Britain, he became the first Omani engineer to become a qualified expert in army weapons and machinery. His military obligations forced him to move to Salalah after returning to Oman, where he would then move back and forth from Dhofar to Muscat depending on the projects assigned. During that period, Dhofar was witnessing harsh economic times due to the Oman-Dhofar rebellion that took place in the 1960’s and lasted until the mid 1970’s. Mohamed explained this experience as the most interesting and joyful time of his life, regardless of the intense situations surrounding him. This has assertively added to his caliber and has shaped him into becoming the strong man he is today.

Post this era and moving into the early 1980’s, Mohamed decided to leave the army and venture into the private sector, creating the empire that he had always dreamed of. He spent over 20 years working as a full time business man, crafting and shaping the industry of building materials and has marked Oriental Group as one of the most prominent group of companies in the Sultanate.

He still believes there is yet more to come, and success has no limits. But his dream as a passionate patriot was to see his country unite and become a safe haven for all the people in Oman to live, develop, and prosper, with H.M. Sultan Qaboos paving the way under his reign. Mohamed has witnessed Oman’s enormous growth, development, and progression from the early 1980’s throughout the 21st century and feels immensely proud of the achievements that the sultanate has made and continues to make until date. He has been among the few hard working professionals who were never afraid to take risks and face challenges equipped with full courage and confidence.

He identifies Oriental Group as maintaining an excellent grade for over 3 decades and continues to do so due to his passion of sustaining the best quality of products through employing advanced and up-to-date technology. His number one concern was to preserve the safety and environment of Oman demonstrating his love to the beautiful nature that his country holds.

Mohamed continues to thrive as the owner of Oriental Group as well as a loving father who owes his success to his children and the people of Oman, who have warmly embraced and acknowledged his achievements for over 30 years.

This young entrepreneur resembles the unprecedented face of some of Oman’s most competitive and challenging business men. He graduated from the Sultan Qaboos University in the year 2002, earning a BSE in Mechanical Engineer.

This realization was never enough and so he yearned to pursue his higher education in the same field of engineering with a different emphasis where he received his master’s degree in industrial engineering in early 2006. Straight after completing his post graduate program, he moved on to join Oriental Group in the same year as an assistant project manager. With the capabilities that he possessed, he managed to excel and exceed management expectations applying all the theoretical years of education into practicality by introducing new techniques that were applied and used in Oriental Group until today.

After a year and a half of working as Assistant Project Manager, he was then promoted to hold the post of Vice Chairman because of the many changes that he had implemented throughout the Group resulting in nothing but success. This was a challenging role that he had undertaken due to the fact that Group encompassed over 10 separate branches acting as individual entities. He continued to surpass all the obscurities that the group had faced internally as well as overcoming the economic downturn and financial instability that the country experienced in the year 2008.

Ali has proven to be a highly competitive professional and still believes that every day is a turning point in life where decisions need to be made and hesitancy cannot be tolerable. Initially, Ali was the sole person in charge of most of the operations in the company such as the finance and HR departments, management supervision as well as the engineering aspects of the company.

In 2006, the company was facing a restructuring phase where Ali grasped the opportunity to implement his previously written thesis assignment done for his final project at university. In his thesis, he illustrates optimizing the recipe of manufacturing blocks. Little did he know that after a few years he would be able to implement his passionately written assignment throughout the entire Group. This project proved to be a success yet again saving the group costs of over 15%, by using the preventive method in the maintenance department. This achievement paved the way for employees at Oriental to become much more punctual, efficient, and disciplined and highly reduced down time. With his open door policy, Ali has managed to create an unbeatable team where responsibilities where known and transferring knowledge between the management and departments was cherished.

Ali’s utmost concern was to ensure customer satisfaction. As a result of his concern, Oriental Group has gained and maintained a solid market share with extremely satisfied customers for over 30 years. One of the suggestions that have contributed towards Ali’s professional success was the checkpoints he made that allowed him to stop and reflect back on the processes and procedures ensuring that things were moving down the right track and going as expected. This has made him avoid mistakes and if any happen to occur, immediate corrective measures would be taken.

Since the group has continued to receive awards for continuous superior quality of products such as applying worldwide ISO standards, Ali has further created and imposed new systematic processes that have assisted quality assurance, creating synergy between departments in the Group, generated positive customer feedback, and helped keep all the procedures of every department in tact through the ERP system that he constructed.

A highly qualified professional with over 15 years of experience working for Oriental Group alone. He began his career after receiving the BACA in agriculture science in Damascus University during the year of 1980. Post receiving his degree, he went off to the Middle East to work in the fields of manufacturing and construction before joining Oriental Group. He spent 4 years in his previous job as a sales manager for one of Oman’s well known construction companies.

However, Khaldoun Al Hussayni believed that there was more he wanted to achieve in his professional career. He then took the decision to resign from his previous job and join Oriental International as Commercial Manager in the year 1984. The company back then was run under a different management team. Still, Khaldoun proved to be competent enough to climb up the hierarchical ladder and move onto becoming the General Manager for Oriental International in the year 1987. One of his accomplishments for Oriental was receiving the worldwide dealership of Liebherr marking Oriental as the first and only agent for this company in Oman.

During the economic crisis in the year 1986, Khaldoun shifted his efforts onto the departments in the company that were slightly more affected by the crisis. He handled the non commercial aspects such as sales, administrative, and financial areas. Once again, he managed to lift up the company from the consequences of the crisis due to his ability to immediately operate various departments in the company making sure that business was running smoothly but surely. He was then appointed as the General Manager for the entire group in the year 1987.

Khaldoun always made sure that he put the interests of the company before his, and has continued to exhibit his passion in various positive forms through his commitment to his role. Another one of his personal accomplishments have been becoming a member of the American Management Association in 1996 where he is recognized for his achievements worldwide. He was also one of the first five people in Oman to receive an article in the Who’s Who business magazine granting him with enormous international exposure.

In the year 1999, Khaldoun went off to pursue other business opportunities. However, even after spending 10 years working at a different organization, he couldn’t help but notice the internal urge to come back to his initial passion, Oriental Group.

In March 2009, he rejoined the Group as General Manager where he continued demonstrating his love for Oriental by expanding the group and adding yet another branch to the already thriving empire. He re-launched Oriental Ready-Mix in May 2009, which proved to become as lucrative as the rest of the 9 branches under Oriental Group.
